Hi Jas,

I blog from Microsoft for education customers. It started as a way of getting around the problem of having too much to say, and no appropriate channel through our main MS UK education site, and it has quickly outgrown our conventional website traffic & content.

But I think what I do for education customers is in quite a niche really - I'm only really writing for the specific customer groups, rather than generically for any audience. For example, with all the fuss being made about data security in government, my interest in blogging about it is what it means to education customers (and I break those down even further by having specific blogs for people in schools, colleges and universities). I guess it makes it even more niche!

Hi,

I'm a Microsoft UK blogger - I work with ISVs, small businesses and ordinary people to understand technology and how it impacts them. I love working with positive people who just want things to work.

One decision I made was to not blog on the official MS platform so I had an element of freedom in my expression.

thanks

Jason, Mel

Thanks for your comments!

My post was deliberately provocative! I know there are a strong group of hardcore UK MSFT Bloggers.
Eileen Brown, Darren Strange, James Senior, Matt McSpirit to name but a few and of course yourselves.

However, I would love to see you guys getting more credit for your blogs and thus more exposure.
For instance, why isn't there a page on Microsoft.co.uk which lists all UK bloggers? Perhaps, I've missed it??

I would just like to see you more of you guys reaching out to more people!

Your content rocks and having a direct connection with you via (social media) is a great thing!
